Michael’s Roscommon House

Where: 531 Joralemon St, Belleville
Details: Michael’s Roscommon House — as heard on “Carton & Roberts” on WFAN sports radio — is celebrating its 40th anniversary! First open in 1982, this family-owned sports tavern is known as a great spot for burgers, beer, and baseball. They have 40 TVs, offer specials during all NFL games, and are famous for their Jersey Wings. Their menu features game time apps like loaded fries, calamari, potato skins, garlic knots, and even perogies. That’s because Michael’s is a fusion of Irish, Italian, and American food. They also have a dozen different cocktail options, including their Mason Jar Lemonade.

The 101 Pub

Details: The 101 Pub has almost zero online presence, aside from a lone Facebook page. (Which updates daily with each day’s menu specials.) However, that doesn’t stop it from being one of the most popular sports bars in the area. Top notch service, ice cold beer, and new menu specials daily keep patrons coming back regularly. Of course, the regular menu is full of bar staples like jalapeno poppers, chili cheese fries, nachos, fajitas, and sandwiches.
Why I Like it: They play all kinds of sports year round, so there’s always a reason to hang out.

Bello’s Pub & Grill

Details: Bello’s holds the title of Newark’s first gastropub, first opening in 1974 and still family operated to this day. Soccer fans have a place to cheer at this spot, as they are proudly home of the NY Redbulls. Bello’s is also a prime stop before or after attending a local event. That’s because they are steps away from both the Prudential Center as well as Penn Station. Be sure to try their Teriyaki Wings, Stuffed Potato Skins, and Old Bay Cajun Fries.
Why I Like it: This spot stays open late (until midnight), even after many other local eateries shut down.

Biggie’s Clam Bar

Details: Biggie’s is coming up on 80 years old. This sports bar and restaurant has been family owned and operated since 1946 and serves a fusion of flavors. Giants and Jets fans can enjoy a menu of seafood — complete with raw bar — burgers, pizza, sandwiches, and more. They also serve a number of classic and contemporary Italian entrees, such as their Seafood with Lobster Cream Sauce. Then finish the 4th Quarter with their Apple Crumb Cake.
Why I Like it: Thai Chili Chicken Wings and a wide selection of craft beers elevate any game day.

Blackjack Mulligan’s Public House

Details: There are a lot of bars and pubs in New Jersey with Mulligan’s in the name. But only three of them belong to the Blackjack Mulligan’s brand. Blackjack aims to define the authentic pub experience, combining great food with exceptional service and an unrivaled atmosphere. These are also the ideal qualities for a sports bar, and specifically, sports fans looking for a new local haunt. They play all sorts of live sports, including UFC fights, and host trivia nights.
Why I Like it: They serve daily dinner specials like the tasty Lobster Ravioli with Shiitake Mushroom Cream Sauce.

Blue 42 Restaurant & Bar

Details: It’s hard to believe Blue 42 opened so recently, coming to Elmwood Park in 2014. That’s because their loyal following and good standing in the community makes them feel like a local landmark. This sports bar bleeds green and gold, and welcomes Green Bay Packers fans to catch every game of the season. Their fan favorite wings are the stars of the menu, and come in many sauces (100+). Favorites include Bang Bang, BBQ, and “Bears Still Suck”.
Why I Like it: As a Packers fan in New Jersey, it’s nice having a place to call “home”.

Deja Vu Restaurant & Bar

Details: There is plenty to see and do at Deja Vu, enough to never do the same thing twice. They offer live music and dancing on Saturdays, as well as special events such as Paint and Wine night. Deja Vu has a large, lovely, covered outdoor patio complete with a mounted TV to watch live sports outside. Indoors, they have a pool table, dart board, and more TVs. The menu of Balkan, American, and Macedonian cuisine blends both European and Asian flavors.
Why I Like it: The mix of authentic home cooking and lively atmosphere makes for a fun night out.

The Dog House Saloon & Grill

Details: In addition to live sports, The Dog House Saloon frequently features live music. In fact, they have an open call for band bookings and even host open mic nights regularly. Locals love their large portions, and in particular, their big salads and giant burgers. With so much else going on, there’s nothing wrong with forgetting about the live sports playing throughout the restaurant. (But it’s usually baseball, soccer, basketball, and football.)
Why I Like it: It’s hard to overstate how large the portions are, they’re basically two meals in one.

Jimmy Geez Sports Bar and Grill

Details: No, the name is not a reference to NFL Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. In fact, the humble origins of Jimmy Geez date all the way back to April of 1999. This is one of those cherished neighborhood sports bars where everyone knows everyone else by name. That’s because many patrons have been coming to the bar for years. While many come for the live sports — including UFC matches — most come for the friendly staff who feel like family.
Why I Like it: Their Ice Cream Candy Cake dessert is a deliciously sweet treat, and an original creation

Mulligan’s Pub

Details: Soccer and football take center stage at Mulligan’s Pub. In particular, they broadcast all European Football matches including Serie A and Barclay’s Premier League. When it comes to NFL games, Mulligan’s is the place to chant “Fly, Eagles Fly”; this spot is famously home to Philly football fans in a state that’s brimming with Giants and Jets fanatics. Popular items on their menu include wings, sirloin burgers, and even Traditional Irish Breakfast (served all day).

Nikki’s Bar & Grill

Details: A Dominican restaurant on a list of The Best Sports Bars in New Jersey? It’s true, Nikki’s Bar & Grill has plenty of TVs and special deals during sporting events. Old Canal Inn

Any business in successful operation for nearly 90 years is definitely doing something right, and this bar is no exception. Many folks like to rent out the space for private parties, while others come for live music or bingo. Of course, they also have plenty of TVs to watch live sports. Why I Like it: The Old Canal Inn has 30 beers on tap and over 135 beers in total.

Plank Road Inn

Details: All fans are welcome at the Plank Road Inn, which boasts 40 TVs to watch live sports. They broadcast every NFL game, as well as March Madness, MLB, and NCAA Football. But the fun doesn’t stop there, because they also have dart boards, a jukebox, and even arcade games. Plank Road Inn serves lunch, dinner, and drinks all week long, but has a full dinner menu Wednesday through Saturday; in addition to both takeout and catering services.
Why I like it: There’s plenty to drink, thanks to 15 draft beers, 20+ bottled beers, and daily specials.

Polo’s Bar & Grill

Details: This family-owned sports bar is run by the Polo family. They offer outdoor patio dining, indoor dining, catering, and even growlers of both their draft beer and sangria. Meanwhile, their signature cocktails all get their name from local landmarks. For example, they serve the Exit 27, the Netcong Fire Dept., The Maple Ave, and the Train Station Martini. Not only do they broadcast pro sports, they also stream local high school sports as well.
Why I Like it: Polo’s has a whopping 120″ HDTV that’s even better than being at the stadium itself.

ReBar & Kitchen

Details: A true sports bar, ReBar always rolls out special drink and meal deals for major sporting events. From Monday Night Football to Wild Card Weekend and, of course, Superbowl Sunday, ReBar welcomes all football fans. In fact, they play every single NFL game of the season; Or, as they say on their Facebook page, it’s “All Games, All Day, Sound On” every Sunday. They offer burgers, pizza, sandwiches, and a dedicated Grilled Cheese menu.
Why I Like it: Check out their Southern BBQ Pulled Pork & Colby Cheese with sautéed onions grilled cheese sandwich.

Sharky’s

Details: Baseball, basketball, football, and more are all part of the Sharky’s experience. This sports bar is most popular for their wings, raw bar, and sports crowd. In particular, the wings with Honey Chipotle Sauce are a fan favorite, as are their pretzels, clams, and margaritas. They serve buffalo wings, buffalo tenders, and buffalo shrimp with any of their 23 sauce options. Signature flavors include Boom Boom, Pineapple Habanero, Old Bay, and On-Fire.
Why I Like it: Sharky’s is so serious about their food, they have re-heating instructions on their website.

Third Base Pub

Details: Large portions, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere are the most attractive qualities of Third Base Pub. (Aka the “Last Stop Before Home.”) In fact, this quiet gem in Branchville is still a relatively unknown paradise for all who frequent it. Locals love the menu of “Pre Game Warm-Ups” like fried ravioli, buffalo pierogi, and pot stickers. Meanwhile, “Starting Lineup” highlights include chicken marsala, fish tacos, and the eggplant parmigiana.
Why I Like it: As a well-kept secret, the food service is typically very quick at this spot.

Uncle Vinny’s Bar & Grill

Details: For 42 years, this address was the site of the popular Wee Willie’s Sports Bar & Grille. However, Wee Willie himself retired in 2019 after 42 years of owning the business. Now, Uncle Vinny’s is a comedy club/bar hybrid that boasts a ton of TVs for watching live sports. They have the NFL Sunday Ticket, and can show any game during the football season; in addition to the MLB Extra Innings package, so fans can watch any team play.
Why I Like it: There are nearly as many TVs as there are bar stool seats in this place.

Vinnie’s All-Star Bar & Grill

Details: With no website and a Facebook page that rarely updates, fans of Vinnie’s mostly swap stories in person. This local spot is a true neighborhood bar that is mostly made up of regulars. Though small in stature, the owner’s big heart and the chef’s generous portion sizes make up for the limited seating. There are only a few TVs in the bar, but they are almost always playing live sports of some kind. Be sure to try one of their sandwiches or specials.
Why I Like it: One of their most popular dishes is the large portion All-Star General Tso’s Chicken.

Central Jersey

Elixir Bar & Grill

Where: 2222 Woodbridge Ave, Edison
Details: Elixir offers “great eats and neighborhood vibes” with a menu that mixes American and Mexican favorites. This sports bar is so into football, they even offer game day deals during the preseason. They also have the NFL Sunday ticket, so they can air every game, all season long. Whether dining in or getting takeout, their award-winning wings pair perfectly with a full day of football. Elixir also frequently features live music and DJs on weekends to liven things up. The bar is open Noon – Midnight from Friday to Sunday, and 3:00 pm – Midnight from Monday through Thursday.

Ellery’s Grill & Pub

Where: 701 Lincoln Blvd, Middlesex
Details: Summer patio dining, weekly poker nights, and live music on weekends are just a few Ellery’s highlights. When not watching live sports, patrons can enjoy weekly specials like Taco Tuesday, or half-price wings on Wednesday. This sports bar is big on both the NFL and college football, but all fans are welcome. Patrons can enjoy their American/Irish food menu, as well as other food specials; including their BBQ Tater Tot Nachos and Teriyaki Cheesesteak.
Why I like it: Ellery’s has an extensive catering menu, making it easy to host game night at home.

Caddyshack Bar & Grill

Details: It’s probably no surprise that a golf course can also house a popular sports bar. That’s exactly the case for Caddyshack, the bar inside The Meadows at Middlesex grounds. In addition to being the perfect post-golf spot for relaxation, they also have pool tables and darts. Of course, the TVs are always playing live sports, including college basketball, NFL football, and more. Other activities include weekly Tuesday Trivia and weekday Happy Hour.
Why I Like it: Their menu is full of game day favorites, plus fun picks like buffalo chicken tenders.

Cryan’s Tavern

Details: An Irish Pub at heart, Cryan’s Tavern is the place to go for all kinds of live sports. They play just about everything across their 15 HDTVs, but Sundays are all about football. In fact, this is another sports bar with the NFL Sunday ticket to watch every game, all season long. Cryan’s is famous for their thin crust pizza, but they also have an assortment of jumbo wings. Their wing sauces range from Thai Chili or Garlic Parmesan to Jameson Irish Whiskey.
Why I Like it: For folks who love trivia, Cryan’s Tavern is the place to be every Monday night.

Finnagel’s Bar and Restaurant

Details: Locals know that Finnagel’s is the place to be on Sundays for wings and football. They don’t mess around when it comes to wings, and offer them in either 1lb or 2lb servings. Their wings come in one of four sauce options — BBQ, Medium, Hot, or Finnagel’s — with either ranch or bleu cheese. The latter is their signature sweet and spicy sauce. Firkin is a premier soccer bar, so they showcase everything from Series A to the English Premier League. As for the game room, they offer pool tables, darts, and air hockey. Firkin walks the line between a family friendly dining room and a local pub/sports bar experience.
Why I Like it: It’s always great when local supports local, and that’s exactly what Firkin does with their beers.

First N Ten Sports Pub

Details: With a name like First N Ten, it’s no surprise this is a local hotspot for watching football. (They show other sports, too.) As is the case for many sports bars, patrons here swear by the wings; which come in popular flavors such as Honey BBQ, Cajun, and the finger-licking good Garlic wings. (The latter comes with Caesar dressing on the side.) For any sports fan looking for a bar with a neighborhood feeling and great food options, this is it.
Why I Like it: The menu offers a number of unique dinner choices as well, including their stuffed vodka rigatoni.

Lemongrass Sports Bar & Lounge

Details: One of the newest sports bars on our list, Lemongrass opened in late 2020. Their menu is heavy on the drink options, with everything from shooters and beer to cocktails and classics. They service Mai Tais, Long Island Ice Tea, Mojitos, Manhattans, and much more. Their TVs are always tuned to the latest live sports, and their food menu is made for game days. Their signature dish is build your own wings, with a few other handhelds on offer too.
Why I Like it: They serve boozy ice cream, with flavors like Butter Dip Rum and Mexican Tequila Chocolate.

Suspenders Pub

Details: Suspenders is closed on Mondays, but we’re willing to forgive them because they have the NFL Sunday Ticket. They typically have game day specials, ranging from $2 draft beers to deals on their popular wings and burgers. The spacious outdoor dining setup and frequent live music outdoors offers a nice contrast to the Sunday sports bar atmosphere. Keep an eye out for their burger of the month, which is usually an over the top concoction.
Why I like it: Suspenders frequently rolls out new cocktails and menu specials, making it worth a return trip.

The Extra Pint

Details: This local sports bar and grill gets more popular — and improves their space — every year. Their latest renovation is a 1,500-sq ft patio, and they also have a new Quick Draw NJ lottery machine. They play all major sporting events across 22 HDTVs, and offer daily food and drink specials. The Extra Pint frequently hosts live music acts as well. As for the menu, they offer favorites like cheesesteak spring rolls, loaded tots, and buffalo chicken quesadillas.
Why I Like it: Their Southwest “Pizza” (on tortilla) is topped with refried beans, ranchero sauce, and cheddar jack cheese.

Ye Olde Rathskeller

Details: Classic pub food dominates the menu at Ye Olde Rathskeller (the German word for a beer hall). Sure-fire apps include their buffalo wings, stuffed cherry peppers, shrimp cocktail, and beer-battered onion rings. They also have burgers, salads, sandwiches, and thin crust pizza, which serve as perfect game time meals. Hockey, baseball, and football are typically on the TV. In particular, Ye Olde Rathskeller can play any game with the NFL Sunday Ticket.

C-View Inn

Details: Eagles fans can watch their team soar as they chow down on some of the Shore’s best wings. The C-View Inn may just be Cape May’s oldest bar, but shows little signs of wear and tear. D’Arcy’s Tavern

Details: D’Arcy’s is “The Shore’s Home to Soccer” as they self-profess. They show all European Football matches live, and post the upcoming schedule on their website. When not airing live sports, the kitchen occasionally offers dinner specials such as Prime Rib Night. Otherwise, the menu always offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner options including the fan-favorite D’Arcy’s Chicken sandwich. They also serve beers on tap, wines, and cocktails too.
Why I Like it: Their signature cocktails all have fun names like Sharknado, or Man of the Match.

Game Time Bar & Grill

Details: Game Time is more than just a sports bar, it’s an indoor amusement park for the whole family. In addition to a TopGolf Swing Suite, Game Time broadcasts every single UFC match, with no cover charge. However, their TopGolf suite is more than just a golf simulator, it offers many other virtual games as well. Other games include challenges based on baseball, football, dodgeball, carnival classics, hockey, soccer, and more. It’s a great idea for parties.
Why I Like it: The menu features all the classic sports bar favorites, from Nachos Grande to mozzarella sticks.

Hooks Bar & Grill

Details: Hooks has something going on every day of the week. A typical week includes Tuesday Karaoke, live music on Wednesday and Friday, Thursday Trivia, and UFC broadcasts on Saturday. Hooks serves lunch and dinner, as well as weekly food and drink specials. Their house specialties include Crab Stuffed Flounder, Roasted Clams, and a Vegetarian Quesadilla. But they also offer pizza, burgers, and plenty of cocktails, draft beers, wine, and more.
Why I Like it: Their spacious outdoor patio is the perfect place for a warm weather lunch with friends.

Jack’s Goal Line Stand

Details: Jack’s Goal Line Stand welcomes all fans, no matter their allegiance. The popular spot now has two locations in Long Branch and Fair Haven, however, the latter is BYOB. Of course, both still serve as a premier hangout to watch the game. As for the original Long Branch location, there are a variety of beers on tap, plus rotating newcomers. They also serve hard seltzers, which pair well with their menu of pub favorites such as pretzel bites.
Why I like it: The owners are there daily, with one in the kitchen and the other behind the bar.

Leggett’s SandBar

Details: Leggett’s is always buzzing with events, live music, and sports. They offer seasonal activities such as weekly Bingo nights, dining in their outdoor garden, and Shot Wheel Thursday. For the latter, one customer spins the shot wheel to determine what drink special Leggett’s serves for the next hour. Their TVs will broadcast anything from horse racing and hockey to football and baseball. The menu boasts homemade chili, clams casino, and more.
Why I Like it: Regulars can participate in the official Leggett’s Dart League, Monday nights from winter through spring.

Miracle Pub

Detals: Fans of all sports can enjoy heading to the Miracle Pub. They have the NFL DirecTV Football Package, and also play MLB, NHL, PGA, NASCAR, NBA, and more across 19 screens. Something that sets this sports bar apart from others on this list is they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Popular menu picks include the Miracle Surf and Turf Bites and Jumbo Pretzel & Kielbasa. The Surf and Turf bites combine steak bites with either shrimp or scallops.
Why I like it: The Miracle Pub also offers catering and packaged goods for watching the game at home.

Mulligan’s Shore Bar and Grill

Details: Philadelphia Eagles fans have a place to roost at Mulligan’s Shore Bar and Grill. This laid back neighborhood bar down the shore serves classic pub favorites, draft beer, and signature cocktails. Pete & Elda’s / Carmen’s Pizzeria

Details: Pete & Elda’s is somewhere between a sports bar and family Italian restaurant. However, locals love this spot because they’ve been serving their famous thin crust pizza for over 50 years. Their “Whole Pie Eaters Club” challenges individuals and families to eat an entire 18″ pie in one setting. The reward? A limited edition graphic tee which features a new custom design regularly. In fact, they’ve already designed more than 260 different shirts.

River Rock Restaurant & Marina Bar

Details: The River Rock Restaurant is always rockin’ thanks to live music, sports, and events. Tailgaters Neighborhood Sports Bar & Grille

Details: The name may be a mouthful, but so is the menu of sports bar favorites. Tailgaters is known for quick service, large portions, and friendly staff. Some menu highlights include the Mahi Tacos, Short Rib Cheese Melt, and the Wisconsin Spicy Cheese Curds. They also serve pub favorites like pizza, burgers, wings, and baby back ribs. Tailgaters welcomes all sports fans young and old, and in fact, they even have a kids menu. (This is for kids 12 and under.)
Why I like it: This sports bar actively avoids cross-contamination so they can offer gluten-free items.

The Chubby Pickle

Details: Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, The Chubby Pickle is a hub for sports and music fans alike. There’s always something to do, from open mic nights and trivia nights to live local bands every weekend. They boast an impressive number of HDTVs to broadcast live sports, and also have a pet-friendly outdoor patio. In addition, this versatile space is equally great for both family lunch and a night out with friends; complete with an energetic nightlife.
Why I Like it: The Chubby Pickle appeared in a 2022 episode of The Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.

Wingcraft Kitchen and Beer Bar

Details: Wingcraft is more of a bar with TVs to watch sports than a sports bar per se. But the menu of signature burgers, wings, and craft beers on tap makes it an ideal spot to watch sports. It doesn’t hurt they’re part of the Tropicana Resort & Casino, with plenty of additional entertainment options. Their wings come with one of 11 sauce choices, ranging from Cool Ranch to RRP Siracha and Truffle Honey. But don’t sleep on their Funnel Cake Battered Oreos.
Why I Like it: They typically offer deals on drinks and popular apps and snacks on Sundays during football.

South Jersey

Crawford’s Corner Bar & Kitchen

Details: Formerly known as JD’s Sports Bar, the newly rebranded Crawford’s Corner Bar is big on “cheesesteakz” and “wingz”. Football fans can watch the games live all Sunday long while taking advantage of Sunday Football Specials. The deals include $1 wingz, $2 off nachos, and a bucket of five Miller Lites for $15. HOB Tavern

Kaycee Ray’s Sports Bar and Pub

Details: One of the newest entries on our list, Kaycee Ray’s first opened in 2020. This all-in-one venue blends a restaurant, bar, and entertainment space together. Guests can expect anything and everything from karaoke and dueling pianos to comedy nights, open mic nights, and live sports. Kaycee Ray’s does not have any team allegiances, so they’ll broadcast anything by request. Plus, they offer food and drink specials every Sunday during NFL games.
Why I like it: This sports bar is behind the iconic Landis Theatre, and perfect for post-event drinks.

Mulligan’s Bar & Grill

Details: How many totally unrelated sports bars named Mulligan’s can we fit on one list? At least one more, apparently. This South Jersey spot offers TVs in every direction, but the real spectacle is just above the bar; They have a series of large HDTVs wrapped around the bar, so there are no bad seats to watch sports. It’s even possible to watch the screens from their outdoor patio area. They also host weekly trivia night, lunch and dinner specials, and more.
Why I Like it: The new expansion and renovations at Mulligan’s further enhance the experience.

P.T. Bar and Package Goods

Details: P.T. Bar feels like a bar out of time, melding the worlds of mechanics and pinup girls. This local favorite stands out for their exceptional bar service, thanks to the friendly team behind the counter. The TVs around the bar are typically playing live sports, but there is plenty else to do here. For instance, they have live music and special events just about every day of the week. This includes poker night, Wing Wednesday, Philly Mondays, and even Block Parties.
Why I Like it: P.T. Bar is straight outta Cheers, with friendly customers, helpful staff, and great company.

Sidelines Sports Bar & Grill

Details: Sidelines Sports Bar is wall to wall sports, from the TVs to the decor. The interior is full of sports jerseys and other memorabilia. They have 23 flat screen TVs in total, and they broadcast just about every live sport. (Including both pro and college level sports.) Owner Ted Lambert is a Millville native and pillar of the community; he frequently sponsors many local organizations and hosts fundraisers at the bar. In fact, his football jersey is on the wall.
Why I Like it: The Sidelines menu is built for watching sports, and full of apps, handhelds, and wings.

Skeeter’s Pub

Details: Skeeter’s is really proud of the quality of their menu. In fact, the pub promises patrons will find “The Best Bar Food in South Jersey” when they stop in. Popular apps include pretzel nuggets, loaded fries, and fresh bruschetta. Meanwhile, they have burgers like the Mushroom Swiss and sandwiches such as the Honey Brie Chicken. Skeeter’s is another sports bar that hosts draft parties, so leagues can score some great deals for their group.
Why I Like it: Poutine fans can check out their signature Poutine Pub Fries with battered cheese curds and gravy.

The Corner Bar

Details: The Corner Bar is big on sports, and even bigger on game day giveaways. For instance, the spot is known for giving away free tickets to games and other prizes during special events. Like many South Jersey sports bars, The Corner bleeds midnight green and proudly supports the Philadelphia Eagles. So fans looking to score free tickets to an Eagles game should make this their go-to sports bar. They also have a liquor store on the premises.
Why I Like it: The Corner is frozen in time, locals know not much has changed in over three decades.

Victory Bar and Grill

Details: The combination of craft beers, live sports, and an all day menu makes Victory a winner. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week, including a special Sunday Breakfast Buffet. All sports fans are welcome here, but most of the crowd will be cheering for the Eagles. In fact, Victory tends to host tailgate parties on their patio for game day. The event typically featured burgers and hot dogs, cornhole, live music, and all-day drink specials.
